The Hunter of Our Soul
June 2009
Brethren, we are in a raging battle every day between good and evil. The Devil hounds our steps like a lion staking its prey. “The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.”
[Jeremiah 4: 7]. The Word of God tells us, “Be Sober, be Vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
[I Peter 5: 8]. Let’s take a look at these scriptures from the Holy Bible. David said, “Save me from the lion’s mouth...”
[Psalm 22: 21]. “O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me: Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.”
[Psalm 7: 1, 2].
Stalker!
Being stalked is a truly terrifying experience. I can only imagine walking down a dark alley, with predators lurking about, and no one there to help. The truth is we are living in a wicked and strange world. As Christians, we must keep our guard up because we are both pilgrims and strangers. The Word of God proves this: “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”
[Hebrews 11: 13]. “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims.”
[I Peter 2: 11].
I have traveled to some very dangerous parts of the world, and there were many times when I was concerned for my safety. During these times, I quoted scriptures like
[Proverbs 21: 31]: “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.” I believe we are living in the end times. The Devil knows his time is short and he will do anything possible to try and seize us. Don’t fall into his trap!
The Predator!
The Devil is
HUNTING our steps like a fierce predator stalking his prey in the night. Jeremiah wrote, “As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us. They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets.”
[Lamentations 4: 17-18]. This passage of scripture reminds me of streets in the cities that we live in, here in America. This country cannot save us from our spiritual enemy and it is vain to think otherwise.
The Devil uses many people and devices to catch us at times when we least expect it. There have been many instances where the Devil has set someone right in our midst to try to catch us when we were not aware. I have heard many Christians tell me that the Devil would have a hard time trapping them because they are always amongst other Christians. I ask that these people take a look at the following scripture: “For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.”
[Jeremiah 5: 26].
We are not safe, dearly beloved. Jesus had to deal with
Predator Preachers in His day. “And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.”
[Mark 14: 53]. Never, trust a preacher or teacher who teaches from phony bibles and uses their own philosophy. Most evildoers look and act harmless. When neighbors that live near these predators are interviewed they say, “Why, that person seemed so nice.” Take a look at this revealing scripture. “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
[II Corinthians 11: 14].
We have all heard about priests in the Catholic Church sexually molesting children and how several of them have been found guilty of child molestation. In 2004, a newspaper reporter for the New York Times, Laurie Goodstein, interviewed Robert Bennett and released a report that has shocked even the most faithful Catholics. Four Thousand priests in the USA have
SEXUALLY abused children. That is 4% of the priests in America. The report goes on to reveal that at least 10,000 children have been
SEXUALLY abused by these devils in sheep’s clothing. Parents trusted these
PREDATOR PRIESTS and their children have paid dearly.
This is only the tip of the iceberg. I wonder how many
PREDATOR PREACHERS today are defiling our children without our knowing about it? Is anyone watching the gay preachers and bishops in this country? This world is full of surrogate devils in disguise, taking advantage of those that are at ease. “He that is ready to slip with his feet is a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.”
[Job 12: 5]. “Woe to them that are at ease in Zion.”
[Amos 6: 1]. Christians, defend yourselves, your children and your children’s children at all times!
A Generation that Devours!
“There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.”
[Proverbs 30: 14]. This generation we are living in is almost totally apostate, and it is getting harder and harder to find a place to hear the Real Word of God. Most preachers and teachers cower when the Devil so much as smiles at them. The Devil won’t cause them any harm, but they play right into his hands by teaching man’s wisdom instead of God’s Word.
The
HUNTER of our
SOUL has many faces and they all look harmless. Take a look at these scriptures: “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”
[Ephesians 4: 14]. “But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, “Why tempt ye me?”
[Luke 20: 23]. The Devil was working through the preachers of Jesus’ day to catch the Lord with His own words. “And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should
feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.”
[Luke 20: 20].
Satan’s Warfare!
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are in the fight of our lives. Jesus warns, “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”
[Revelation 3: 11]. Your soul is the seat of your affection. That is, where your appetite for life comes from, whether by doing good or by doing evil. “From whence come wars and fighting among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members.”
[James 4: 1].
Lust is a powerful desire that we each have to battle with constantly. Jesus said, “That which cometh out of man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thought, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these things come from within, and defile the man.”
[Mark 7: 20-23].
The
HUNTER of our
SOUL is tracking our steps. Be cautious not to let your feet slide. David said, “There is but a step between me and death.”
[I Samuel 20: 3]. Most of the time trouble happens suddenly and without warning. If we do not have our hearts in tune with God, the Devil will catch us. “For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in the evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them."
[Ecclesiastes 9: 12].
The world that we dwell in is crooked and perverse. It has been corrupted because of
Deadbeat Preachers. “For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!”
[Deuteronomy 32:28-29].
The Weapons of our Warfare!
“How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!”
[II Samuel 1: 27]. Trusting in the arm of flesh to win against the Devil is very foolish. The Apostle Paul gives us some understanding in what a Christian is up against. “Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges?”
[I Corinthians 9: 7].
Ladies and gentlemen, the Holy Bible gives us Christians examples of how to conduct ourselves at all times. “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophesies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.”
[I Timothy 1: 18-20].
“Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; For the Lord God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”
[Deuteronomy 20: 3-4]. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds). Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”
[II Corinthians 10: 3-6].
The Battle is the Lord’s!
Do not be like Saul and steer away from the Lord’s will. Always inquire of the Lord when you are in battle and
never get ahead of God. Saul lost his life, his sons, and his kingdom for being disobedient. We all have giants to face and we can face them confidently if we are in God’s perfect will.
Look at this great example of how God will help each of us tackle our enemies if we wait on Him and believe. David looked his giant directly in the face and said, “This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for
the battle is the Lord’s and he will give you into our hands.”
[I Samuel 17: 46, 47].
“Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. For their rock is not our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.”
[Deuteronomy 32: 1-4, 31]. I have read the end of the Holy Book and we will win, but winning does not come without sacrifice.
Victory!
The
HUNTER of our
SOUL can be defeated, but only by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. AMEN!
Serving Him,
